We are trees.
Trees show life at its fullest.
We must go through the seasons time and time again.
We become dormant when we go through winter,
But blossom afresh with new leaves and flowers each spring.
We always carry thousands of leaves,
Yet not all can be seen.
Our flowers come rarely,
And so, they are viewed as special.
Our middle, the trunk, is our most important part;
It widens as time passes and we become older.
Our rings in our trunk show what the weather has thrown at us,
But most don’t see them.
Our branches almost always grow towards the brilliant sun,
But occasionally, we shy from it.
Our bark grows thick as we wizen with age.
Our life, and death, gives nutrients t0 the world.

Author's Comments

This is an extended metaphor poem I wrote. It's very insightful and I hope you can see that.

We truly are like trees and if you don't believe me, then read my poem again and see how it relates to your life.
